The Compliance Department has published a booklet that each officers and employees (including part-timers and short-term employees) can always carry in order to disseminate the Oji Group Corporate Code of Conduct and the Oji Group Behavior Standard which was revised on October 1, 2020. And the Compliance Department has created a commentary and educational materials that summarize the basic concept, explanations of each article, and checkpoints, and has used and trained with booklet and educational materials at all compliance meetings of each Oji Group office in Japan.
In addition, for overseas office, the Oji Group Corporate Code of Conduct and the Oji Group Behavior Standards were translated into various languages and we translate educational materials into 12 languages in seqence in order to disseminate the Oji Group Corporate Code of Conduct and the Oji GroupBehavior Standards and put into practice the Oji GroupBehavior Standards.
In the Oji Group, the Corporate Compliance Department of Oji Holdings promotes compliance through activities including the provision of compliance training and the delivery of monthly newsletters. The compliance promotion leaders of Group companies lead the holding of regular compliance meetings and the implementation of compliance training for all officers and employees (including part-time and short-term employees) in each workplace. The Oji Group strives to raise compliance awareness by combining these activities.
Numerous opportunities are created for employees to acquire necessary knowledge including compliance training as a part of rank-based training for newly-appointed managers and new employees as well as periodic internal training on issues that are common to all Group companies such as the Subcontract Proceeds Act, the Antimonopoly Act, and the prevention of bribery.
The Compliance News is issued every month and uses case studies to promote awareness, explain the Oji Group Corporate Code of Conduct and the Oji Group Behavior Standard, and inform employees about the whistleblowing system.
Each Group company provides training on harassment and other issues on its own. In addition, regular compliance meetings are held to promote understanding of the Oji Group Corporate Code of Conduct and the Oji Group Behavior Standard and deepen communication between employees. These meetings lead employees to identify compliance-related problems in each workplace and discuss countermeasures against them, thereby raising compliance awareness on their own.
The contents of the compliance meeting are reported to the Corporate Compliance Department, and effective initiatives are shared throughout the Group.
The Internal Audit Department conducts periodic audits, and if problems are identified, implements countermeasures to individually address issues and performs other detailed responses to ensure that compliance is firmly established. In addition, a compliance awareness survey of all Oji Group officers and employees is conducted every other year in Japan to monitor the status of compliance at each work site.
