The Fujihara Foundation of Science

Oji Group proactively carries out activities that contribute to the promotion of culture, music and sports, and we highly value our connection with society.

The Fujihara Foundation of Science

The Fujihara Foundation of Science was established by in 1959 by Ginjiro Fujihara.

After retiring as president of Oji Paper, Ginjiro Fujihara worked hard on education projects, such as establishing the Fujihara Institute of Technology (the current Keio University Science and Technology) with his funds and donating to Kyoritsu Womenʼs University. And when he was 90 years old, he founded the Fujihara Foundation of Science. The Fujihara Award of the Fujihara Foundation of Science is an award that honors scientists who have made distinguished contributions to the development of Japanese science and technology. The award ceremony is held annually in June, the month of Ginjiroʼs birth.

In 2023, the 64th Fujiwara Award presentation ceremony was held in much the same formality as before the new coronavirus infection.
We have been supporting the Fujihara Foundation of Science financially, and we hope this Foundation can contribute even more to developing Japanese science and technology.
